Where a letter-graded course includes quizzes or tests in Blackboard Ultra or Brightspace, we build the preparation and you sit them: condensed notes for the week's material, practice questions with answer logic, and target-score math run from your gradebook against the letter bands and your program's floor, 2.0 undergraduate, 3.0 graduate. The CBE and Direct Assessment tracks replace exams entirely with authentic assessments, apply the competency to your actual employer, which is simulation-by-reality and squarely the CBE desk's territory: send two paragraphs of your real context and the draft targets Mastered. Nothing timed, monitored, or attempt-limited is ever sat for you, in any of the three models.
The map, model by model
| Model | Tested surface | Our lane |
|---|---|---|
| Letter-graded (the majority) | Weekly clusters, plus quizzes where sections include them | Clusters drafted at the letter desk; quizzes prepped to a number, sat by you |
| CBE tracks | Authentic assessments, MA/ME/NM, three attempts | Drafted from your real context to Mastered, attempts spent strategically |
| Direct Assessment | The same assessments on a CU-per-term clock | The DA desk's dated maps, floors cleared early |
Quiz weeks in a one-course system
One course at a time means a quiz week is your entire academic week: the cluster still bills, the discussion still grades, and the five-to-six-week block has no slack to absorb a collision. The split is standing policy, the writable cluster hands off whole, study hours stay protected, and the prep kit aims at the exact score the gradebook needs, per the three-models manual's floors. The ARA wire stays watched throughout, because a quiz week is also the classic week engagement quietly lapses.
Authentic assessments: the simulation that is real
- Your employer's actual situation is the scenario, a real SWOT on a real company, by design
- Two confidential paragraphs of context in; a Mastered-targeted draft out, grounded exactly there
- First submissions built to be final; the three-attempt structure is a reserve, not a plan
- Concurrent CBE courses run on one dated map so five-at-once stays a plan, not a hazard
The line, permanent
Quizzes and anything monitored are sat by you alone, in every model; our lane is preparation and the writing around it. Phoenix's own design keeps the grade weight in deliverables, which means the boundary costs you nearly nothing, and the desks carry everything on the writable side of it.
